Dynamic Village
For this edition, SMV designed the spatial configuration of the containers. Unlike previous years, we chose to build upwards, stacking containers perpendicular to each other. This created a dynamic inner world with both enclosed and open areas. It feels like a colorful village where visitors could wander from one exhibition to the next, constantly surprised by new perspectives.
The layered stacking generated intriguing sightlines and a dynamic play of shadow and light. In certain spots, the containers reached such heights that there was room to hang enormous photo prints — a powerful way for the festival to manifest itself in the city and invite curious passersby to step inside.

Open and closed
The configuration was designed so that the site is only accessible through a central entrance during opening hours, while the containers can be securely closed outside those hours. No fences were used; instead, smart positioning and stacking of the containers ensured security.
During opening hours, the container doors are open, turning the site into a defined exhibition space. Once the festival closes, the container doors are shut to protect the works, while the site itself opens up to the city. In this way, the exhibition transforms from a vibrant festival during the day into a maze-like public space at night.
