Discontinuance of Urban Affairs

As of 1 January 2009 we have discontinued Urban Affairs. We, Theo Hauben and Marco Vermeulen, will continue as two independent firms.

We embarked on our collaboration in 1997 while we were studying. Our first project was the conversion and design of the former Van der Schoot premises in Eindhoven into a hairdresser, boutique and beauty salon. This project marked the beginning of a fascinating time and, after we graduated in 1999, we formalised our collaboration with the establishment of Urban Affairs in Rotterdam. In the past years we have worked on widely divergent commissions on all scale levels for many different clients. We are proud of our portfolio that by now comprises: interiors, small-scale construction projects, diverse design studies into mobility and identity, new typologies in the field of water storage and urban designs for living and working landscapes.

A complete overview of our work can be viewed on www.urbanaffairs.nl. Urban Affairs represents for us an inspiring collaboration and an adventurous time in the spring of our careers.
