As part of Brabant2018 and commissioned by the Brabants Kenniscentrum Kunst en Cultuur (BKKC) SMV has organized a design studio together with MVRDV. BrabantStad is a candidate for European Capital of Culture 2018. The fact that several cities including the inbetween area are together candidate, offers ample opportunities for a unique edition of the phenomenon of cultural capital. Besides cultural activities in the cities, this time also the rural areas are strongly involved in programming. Right here, on the border of red and green, are characteristic spatial structures on the surface becomes the Brabant identity manifest. Is it possible, based on the current, to construct a mental city in which the (cultural) landscape is the link between rural and urban public sites and thus the bearer of this cultural capital?
